Dreaming up, transference and countertransference in therapy, counselng and coaching

2-4.2.2018 in Bratislava, Slovakia

Led by Clare Hill, Dipl. PW

Just as there is a notorious blind spot in a car, so too there are areas where we tend not to notice what is happening. These typically appear where our own less conscious processes collide with our clients. Yet when we learn to be more sensitive to these signals, and to use them creatively, they can often deepen and enrich the work we are doing. The weekend will be a mixture of short awareness exercises and supervised work in front of the group.

We will explore the following:

 Consciously allowing ourselves to be dreamt up.

 Identifying our primary style and how to notice if we are being dreamt-up for the client in it - often hard to spot!!

 Our high and low dream for our work, including addressing some of our own 'core complexes' , e.g. fear of failure or criticism, and looking at how that can influence our style - too cautious, avoiding edges, reckless.....

 Ways of using positive and negative projections from the client, including sexual attraction - either way or both!

And other transference and countertransference issues.
