RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM OF THE PROCESS WORK STUDY CENTER FOUNDATION
(effective October 1, 2017)
INTRODUCTION
- The training program is a project of the Process Work Study Center Foundation (SPP-Studium Psychologii Procesu), accredited by the Polish Process Work Association(PTPP). Participants of the training program receive recommendations and certificates from PTPP.
- The program is a continuation of the training program of the PTPP.
- The Process Work Study Center Foundation cooperates with the International Association for Process Oriented Psychology.
- The curriculum meets the requirements of the psychotherapy training proposed by the Polish Council of Psychotherapy.
- The aim of the program is reliable preparation for working as a psychotherapist and facilitator using methods of process oriented psychology.
- Studying covers theory (training), practice, personal growth and supervision. All these elements are necessary to fulfill the objectives of the training program.
DURATION
The minimum period to obtain a therapeutic diploma is 5 years from the date of enrollment, of which the first phase of studies is a minimum of 2 years, and the second phase is a minimum of 3 years.
The prerequisite for joining the program is the completion of the Annual Course or the Intensive Course conducted by the Process Work Study Center Foundation.
Participants in the SPP training program remain registered in the program from the beginning of the 5-year training until passing the so-called gate seminar, quallifying for admission to the certifying exams organised by the Polish Process Work Association.

The duration of the preparation period for the final exams and certificate depends on the needs of the person registered in the SPP training program. Taking exams is possible both immediately after the completion of 5 years of training or after several years of own practice and participation in facultative courses.
ORGANIZATION OF STUDIES
Prerequisites:
- The candidate must have minimum a secondary education at the beggining of studying. Upon the completion of Phase I exams, the student must have a second degree (Master's degree)
- Completion of the Annual or Intensive Course (Hours of the Annual / Intensive Course are included in total to the study hours if admission to the school takes place directly after the course; in other cases the number of hours is to be agreed upon with the Study Committee)
- Interview (with a qualified therapist from the school staff): assessment of the candidate's readiness to undertake psychotherapy training (Consensus Reality and Dream level)
Registration procedure:
- The candidate submits the following documents to the Training Program Administration: a written recommendation after the interview, a declaration of attendance, a resume, a photograph, a consent to the processing of personal data.
- The student is obliged to choose a two-person study committee (KS – Komitet Studiów), consisting of at least one person with a process work diploma from the school staff; the second person may be a Phase II student from SPP training program
- After the submission of the documents and the payment of the fees, the Phase I of the studies begins.
Membership in the Polish Process Work Association
The training program of the SPP Foundation is accredited by the Polish Process Work Asociation, a member of the Polish Council of Psychotherapy. All program participants are subject to the PTPP Code of Ethics from the beginning of their therapeutic practice. Membership in PTPP while studying at the SPP Foundation is compulsory.
Course of studying
- The training program envisages specific activities to be completed for each year of study.
- It is possible to study in an individual mode, after establishing it with the Study Committee.
- The classes provided for a given year are held on condition that the group is assembled, otherwise the students set the course of study individually with their Study Committee.
- The requirements in each year in the individual mode may not be lower than the program minimum, covering 4 sessions with the Study Committee and:
- one training workshop or 15 hours of group supervision in the case of Phase I,
- 15 hours of group supervision in the case of Phase II A / B. Regular supervision, at least every 5 sessions with a client,
- a report sent to the administration and the Study Committee.
The basis for completing the 15h supervision, in both Phase I and II, is participation in at least one full-day supervision workshop, the rest of the hours can be done as part of shorter meetings.
Failure to complete the curriculum minimum will result in the suspension of student rights. In order to return to studying one must complete gaps in the curriculum and obtain the approval of the Study Committee.
Credit for hours taken previously or in other centers
- If a student has taken part in process oriented psychology training, in centers belonging to the IAPOP, pre-enrollment in the SPP Training Program, after gaining the consent of the Study Committee he / she may receive credit for a part of the previous courses, but not more than 50%.
- The course of study may also include classes taken at any other process work centers belonging to the International Association for Process Oriented Psychology, with at least 75% of hours being held within the SPP Training Program. The exception is a situation when a person moves from another training program, then the requirements are set by the Study Council.
Phase I
- Training
a. Compulsory training workshops on process oriented psychology (120 hours), in accordance with the current program of study, covering the following topics:
- Process Diagnosis
- Social and cultural aspects of psychotherapy
- Psychopathology and process work
- Working with the edge; defense mechanisms
- Working with movement
- Working with a group
- Inner work
- Metaskills
b. facultative workshops in process oriented psychology (these may be personal growth workshops conducted by students of Phase II stage B) - 30 hours.
c. Participation in group processes - 6 hours.
d. General psychotherapeutic workshops (90 hours), covering the following topics:
- Personality, development and the basics of psychological diagnosis
- General psychopathology
- Theories of psychotherapy x2
- Ethics
- Basic therapeutic skills
- Personal work
- own therapy of 70h, including at least 35 h with a trained proccess work therapist
- Sessions within the Study Committee – monitoring of the study process and development as a therapist – 2 x 2 hours per year (these sessions do not count towards therapy hours)
- meetings in peer groups 1 x every two months
- keeping a personal work notebook
- Practice / Internship
- 60 hours in a psychiatric facility
- Supervision
- group supervision – 30 h
- individual supervision minimum 3 hours, including 1 hour. dedicated to practice.
Phase I Exams
- Admission to the examinations
- The admittance of a student to the Phase I exam is determined by the Study Committee on the basis of the monitoring of the development in previous years and the recommendation session
- Before the exams, formal requirements must be met
- Exam topics
a. Theoretical exams:
- Philosophy, history and theory of process oriented psychology
- Theories and phenomena in psychotherapy
- Working with dreams and the visual channel
- Working in the proprioception and movement channel
- Working in the auditory channel
- Working in the relationship channel
- Working with altered and extreme states of consciousness
- Working with the world
b. Practical exams:
- Inner work
- Working with clients
Subjects 1 and 2 (Philosophy, History and Theory of Process Work / Theories and phenomena in psychotherapy) must be passed at the beginning of the session, which is a condition for taking further exams. A student may take up to 4 exams with one examiner. Time from the first to the last exam - max. 24 months.
Entitlements after Phase I exams
The student receives a certificate of completion of Phase I of the SPPTraining Program and recommendations of the PTPP which entitle them to start a psychotherapeutic practice under supervision. A student receives the status of a therapist during the training and is enlisted as a therapists by the PTPP.
Phase II
Part A. Training and therapeutic training practice (minimum 2 years)
1. Training
a. Obligatory workshops in process work - 135 hours, in accordance with the valid study program, covering the following topics:
- Working with physical symptoms
- Working with dreams
- Trauma and abuse
- Long-term processes in therapy
- Therapeutic relationship
- Altered states of consciousness
- Working with relationships
- Facilitation of group processes
- Working with conflicts
- Participation in group processes - 8 hrs.
b. Facultative workshops - minimum 20 hours
2. Personal work
- 45 hours of individual therapy with a certified process work psychotherapist
- meetings in "peer groups" - at least once every two months
- keeping a personal work notebook
- sessions with the Study Committee - monitoring your own development as a therapist - 2 x 2 hours annually
3. Practice and internships
- Traineeship in a psychiatric facility or social welfare home -60 hours;
- Traineeship in a medical institution - 120 hours
- Seeing at least 3 clients under close supervision (minimum 50 hours)
- Carrying out 20 hours of development workshops / group processes under supervision
4. Supervision
- min 25 hours of individual supervision, including 2 hours for each type of work and 5 hours of live work (so-called "working in the middle", includes working with the client during individual supervision)
- 60 hours of group supervision
5. Written and multimedia work
- one case studie
- two reports from traineeships
- two video analysis
Completion of Part A of Phase II
The basis for the completion of stage A is:
- filling and settlement of formal requirements
- the Study Committee recommendation to move to the next phase of study
Entitlements after part A of Phase II
The student receives a document of completion of stage A of Phase II of training in process oriented psychology. He/she obtaines the right to conduct therapy for Phase I students, development workshops included in study hours and of participation in Study Committees.
Part B. Preparation for diploma and certification exams.
Own practice / facultative workshops (minimum 1 year)
1. Training:
- Facultative workshops - 60 hours.
- Participation in group processes - 6 hours.
- Worldwork Seminar - minimum 25 hours
2. Personal work:
- 25 hrs. of individual therapy with a certified process work psychotherapist
- Meetings in peer groups once every 2 months
- Keeping a personal work notebook
- Meetings with the Study Committee - monitoring your own development as a therapist and facilitator 2x2 hrs / a training year
3. Own practice and internships:
- Working with clients under supervision - minimum 200 hours
- Carrying out 60 hours of workshops / group processes under supervision
- Traineeships at any facility or non-govermantal organization that provides services for prople - 120 hours.
- Social project
4. Supervision:
- Group supervision 60 h.
- Individual supervision 37 hours. including 2 hours about traineeship
5. Written and multimedia work
- 2 case studies
- 1 video analysis
- passing long-term work with an altered state, process supervision and two video analysys
Completion of Part B of Phase II - Gate Seminar.
Completion of Part B includes:
- fulfillment of formal requirements
- a positive recommendation from the Study Committee, which admits the student to the gate seminar
- the gate seminar, during which the student conducts live work with a client
- the gate seminar, during which the student conducts two works:
1. working with a client on a dream or symptom
2. facilitation of own conflict
The gate seminar is organized by the SPP Foundation.
The successful pass of the gate seminar completes education at the SPP Foundation, and from that moment the student does not pay the administrative fee.
Entitlements after Stage B of Phase II
The student receives a certificate confirming the completion of a comprehensive 5-year training in psychotherapy conducted by the SPP Foundation, which is the basis for taking diploma exams organized by the Polish Process Work Association. The student receives the right to conduct their own psychotherapeutic practice under supervision.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Additional requirements
The Study Committee, in consultation with the Study Center Board may suspend a student or impose additional requirements at any time during their studies due to insufficient competences or meta-skills to work as a psychotherapist. The supervisor may submit comments or suggestions regarding additional requirements for the student to the Study Committee.
Students of Phase I, upon request of the Study Center Board, may be suspended in the student's rights when his / her place in personal development requires work on serious issues influencing relationships with people and may interfere with working with others, including co-students within the framework of the training.
Phase II student, in situations where deficiencies concerning his / her skills or personal development problems could threaten potential clients or participants in the workshop, may be suspended in the right to conduct therapy and supervised workshops until the problem is worked through; or in extreme cases may be removed from the Program. The decision to suspend or withdraw therapeutic recommendations is taken by the Study Center Board.
Student Rights and Responsibilities
Students have the right to:
a. free use of the library and the PTPP video library or training program in accordance with the rules in force
b. receive free information about organized sessions and examinations with foreign teachers
c. receive the student index
d. priority of participation or discounts for workshops and classes organized by the Polish Process Work Association
e. report their workshops and post them on the PTPP mailing list
f. direct applications, claims and complaints to the Ethics Committee of the PTPP.
The basic duties of a student include:
a. Timely payment of fees
b. Submission to the Study Committee of written reports of each year of study
c. Having an email account and informing the administration about changing your email address, postal address, and contact phone number.
Charges
- The student is obliged to pay an administrative fee, which is intended to cover organizational costs. The fee is set each year by the program coordinators.
- A person who is in arrears with student fees for 3 months receives a prompt from the Administration. If within 1 month he / she does not clarify the status of fees / charges arrears, he / she is removed from the student list.
- Training, therapy and supervision are paid independently.
Suspension, resumption, re-enrollment
The student may suspend the first phase studies for any period not exceeding 2 years with the consent of their Study Committee.
During the suspension the student:
- does not pay student fees;
- can not exercise the student's rights, including his / her entitlements;
The study break is not included in the study period.
You can not suspend your studies aback.
At the end of the suspension period the student sends a written information to the Administration and the Study Committee about their decision to return to active study and automatically restores all student rights and obligations. The student may decide on his or her own initiative to return to active study before the suspension perion is over; If, however, he / she wants to extend the period of suspension, it must again get the approval of the Study Committee.
Prior to the suspension, the formal requirements for the previous study period must be fulfilled.
Removal from the student list
The student may be excluded from the student list in the following situations:
1. Failiure to file the required documents to settle the year within the expected timeframe
2. Failure to pay an administrative fee for more than 3 months
3. Abandonment of studies (not taking part in compulsory courses at the minimum level, not having compulsory sessions with the Study Committee, not submitting reports for more than 2 years.) The decision is made by the Study Center Board.
The student may return to Phase I studies after obtaining the approval of his Study Committee and paying a handling fee of 3 contributions. The Study Committee may enroll not more than 50% of individual therapy and classes from the previous study period. The decision on this issue is made by the Study Council upon request of the Study Committees taking into account the length of the break and other factors.
The Rules of Studying complement the Rules of Procedure of the Training Program of the Process Work Study Center Foundation.
The Process Work Study Center Foundation reserves the right to change the regulations, in particular to adapt the requirements to the standards set by the Polish Council for Psychotherapy and the International Association for Process Oriented Psychology.

Supplement:
REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING THE PPWA PSYCHOTERAPY CERTIFICATE AND THE INTERNATIONAL PPWA DIPLOMA (valid from October 1, 2017)
The Polish Process Work Association defines the list of requirements necessary to obtain a PPWA certificate. These requirements may change depending on the legal situation and obligations of the PPWA towards other psychotherapeutic organizations, in particular the Polish Psychotherapy Council and IAPOP.
